Even on Ebay where items are sold as cheaply and quickly as feasible, true antiques are occasionally listed for thousands of greenbacks before the bidding is even close to being finished.

Shopping for Cuckoo Clocks
As cuckoo clocks have been around since 1730 and have always been made by presented artists and talented craftsmen, lots of the older pieces that were even minimally cared for are still in existence today. There is a thing about the unique call of the cuckoo, a bird that lays her eggs in the nests of other birds and then deserts her young to be raised by others, that hits a harmonious chord in the human psyche. Certainly there are better behaved birds to indicate the appearance of a new hour, and certainly any amount of our aviary pals complete sweeter sounds that would have been employed to usher in that enthusiastically predicted lunch hour. For some reason, the cuckoo clock turned into a worldwide phenomenon in a time when one part of the world was barely conscious of the goings in another.
